'Unfinished Tales'
Note that I din't list every mention of Elrond here, but just those, that are actually important for his own story. Please, contact me if I forgot something important or made a spelling mistake.
Part Two, I A Description of the Island of Númenor
- Even such documents as were preserved in Gondor, or in Imladris (where in the care of Elrond were deposited the surviving treasures of the Northern Númenórean kings) suffered from loss and destruction by neglect.
Part Two, IV History of Galadriel and Celeborn
- When news of this reached Gil-galad he sent out a force under Elrond Half-elven; but Elrond far to go, and Sauron turned north and made at once for Eregion. The scouts and vanguard of Sauron's host were already approaching when Celeborn made a sortie and drove them back; but though he was able to join his force with that of Elrond they could not return to Eregion, for Sauron's host was far greater than theirs, great enough both to hold them off and closely invest Eregion.
- In black anger he [Sauron] turned back to battle; and bearing as a banner Celebrimbor's body hung upon a pole, shot through with Orc-arrows, he turned upon the forces of Elrond. Elrond had gathered such few of the Elves of Eregion as had escaped, but he had no force to withstand the onset. He would indeed have been overwhelmed had not Sauron's host been attacked in the rear; for Durin sent out a force of Dwarves from Khazad-dûm, and with them came Elves of Lórinand led by Amroth. Elrond was able to extricate himself, but he was forced away northwards, and it was at that time [in the year 1697, according to the Tale of Years] that he established a refuge and stronghold at Imladris (Rivendell).
- [...] But his [Sauron's] force was weakened by the necessity of leaving a strong detachment to contain Elrond and prevent him coming down upon his rear.
- At that time also Gil-galad gave Vilya, the Blue Ring, to Elrond, and appointed him to be his vice-regent in Eriador.
- [...] and it was then that Elrond first saw Celebrían, and loved her, though he said nothing of it.
- [...] Celeborn and Galadriel passed over the mountains to Imladris, and there dwelt for many years; for Elrond was their kinsman, since he had early in the Third Age [in the year 109, according to the Tale of the Years] wedded their daughter Celebrían.
Part Three, I Disaster of the Gladden Fields
- A flask of miruvor, 'the cordial of Imladris', was given to Gandalf by Elrond when the company set out from Rivendell.
