Maglor

Maglor (I guess glor must be from 'laurë'='gold' and mag from 'maeg'='sharp; piercing'.)
Second son of Fëanor and Nerdanel. He was a great singer and minstrel. His most important work, the great song Noldolante, was lost.
Maglor guarded the lands between the hill Himring and the Blue Mountains. When finally he wasn't able to hold the enemies back any longer, he fled to his older brother Maedhros.
Bound by his father's curse to seek to reclaim the Simarils, he still often doubted that it was the right thing to do. When he and his brothers had attacked the Mouths of Sirion, he took the elflings Elrond and Elros in and cared for them well. Of his siblings only Maedhros remained alive when Morgoth was defeated. He persuaded Maglor to steal the Simarils out of Eonwë's camp. It is said that Maglor threw his jewel into the sea, though. Afterwards he went to wander along the coasts of Middle-earth and sing sad songs. He wasn't seen among elves ever again.
