Lindon
Lindon (=Land of Music) was the realm of Gil-galad. It was a tiny rest of Ossiriand which had been lost to the sea at the end of the First Age. Here, the surviving Noldor and Sindar were gathering around Gil-galad and Círdan. The Gulf of Lhûn divided the realm into the northern part Forlindon and the southern part Harlindon. The Grey Havens (Mithlond) were situated in this bay.
In 3431 S.A. a great elven army was dispatched from Lindon to unite with the troups of Elendil. Together, they fought against Sauron in Mordor. As Gil-galad was killed in battle, the elves of Lindon now looked up to Círdan. Yet, they had become weak and pessimistic and didn't meddle in the affairs of Middle-Earth any longer. During the War of the Ring the ships leaving for the West were leaving from Mithlond.
Lord Elrond dwelled in Lindon in the Second Age.
