Biography
Elrond Peredhil (= Stardome Halfelven) was the son of Earendil the Mariner and Elwing.
Because his mother was in posession of one of the legendary Silmarillion, his family was chased by Feanor's sons.
While Earendil was sailing the seas to reach Aman and ask the Valar to help elves and men in Middle-Earth, the brothers attacked. Elwing was able to save herself by jumping of a cliff into the sea wearing the Silmaril on her breast.
Elrond and his brother Elros were captured by Feanor's family, but one of them, Maglor, protected them from harm.
The brothers alone represented the lineage of the highelven kings. But when the Valar gave both of them the freedom to decide to which kindred they would belong, Elros decided to become mortal.
Elrond for his part became a great scholar and healer and had the gift of foresight. In the Second Age, when he helped
defending the Noldor of Eregion against Sauron, he founded Imladris as a stronghold. He stayed there when
the war had ended. Highking Gil-Galad entrusted him with the blue Elvenring Vilya.
During the Last Alliance between men and elves Elrond even became herald to the Highking.
He married the daughter of Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn, Celebrķan. His children were the twins
Elladan and Elrohir and the beautiful Lady Arwen. After being captured and tortured by orcs, Elrond's wife sailed
across the sea to the Undying Lands leaving her family behind.
When Sauron started to gain new power in the Third Age, Elrond gathered a council to dicuss the fate of the
One Ring. He chose the members of the Fellowship. After the quest was fulfilled and the Ring destroyed, he,too, went over the sea.
His daughter stayed in Middle-earth as the wife of King Elessar. Whether his sons followed him to Valinor is not known.
