Arwen
Arwen (= "Noble Maiden"):
Daughter of Elrond and Celebrían. Called the 'Evenstar' of her people, because of her great beauty.
When her mother had sailed west, Arwen spent much time in Lothlórien. When she returned to Rivendell, she met Aragorn for the first time. While he was instantly smitten by her, Arwen herself seemed to have more brotherly feelings towards him. It took another meeting, 29 years later and this time in the woods of Lórien, to make her fall in love with him as well: Galadriel had dressed him in royal clothes and so, Arwen was finally able to notice his nobility. The two of them were betrothed on the hill of Cerin Amroth, but Elrond was grieved by his daughter's choice to bind her life to a mortal. He made one condition, that Aragorn first had to reclaim the throne of Gondor and Anor before he would allow the wedding. When that had finally come to pass, Arwen chose mortality to marry Aragorn Elessar and thusly
became Queen of the Reunited Kingdom.
The couple had a son, Eldarion, and several daughters. 120 years they were married when Aragorn died. Arwen was badly grieved, because she didn't feel ready to die with him yet, she returned to the hill of Cerin Amroth and passed away shortly after.
